4 Key Things to Know
How I Plan an Affiliate Launch or Promotion
Let’s keep things super basic here. When I plan an affiliate launch, I follow this simple workflow:
1. Use Asana to Plan Out the Promotion
2. Align My Promo Calendar with My Content Calendars
3. Coordinate Email Marketing Campaigns
4. Plan and Create Social Posts
5. Use Pretty Links (or a service like Bitly) to Create Easy-to-Remember URLs
Keeping it simple when it comes to launching (anything!) is what will ensure less stress and more success.
Different Types of Affiliate Promos
1. One-Time Launch – refers to launches where the cart opens and closes once
2. Cyclical, Annual, or Seasonal Launches – these types of launches happen more than once, can be multiple times per year
3. Series Launch – requires several pieces of content to promote what you’re endorsing
Don’t Forget to Optimize Existing Content
Many creators forget to go back to their existing content and optimize it with affiliate links and promotional CTAs. This could mean adding affiliate links to your highest performing podcast episodes and YouTube videos.
My Favorite Tools for Affiliate Marketing Promos
Make sure you check out the Tools Page on my website to view ALL of my affiliate partners and brands I endorse. But for a quick list of companies I’ve fallen in love with promoting, here they are:
- Asana
- Buzzsprout
- Otter.Ai
- Streamyard
- TubeBuddy
- ConvertKit
- BC Stack
- Podcaster’s Kit
At the end of the day, we all have to decide on working with the brands and companies that align most with our values and principles.
