I couldn’t agree with this more. Travis shares about when he first started podcasting and he believed he could produce a podcast like another one…that was being run by 10-12 people!
I think we all make this mistake when we first start. We try to do too much and end up overwhelmed, or worse, we burn out altogether!

What’s the biggest podcasting mistake you’ve ever made?
Trying to make a podcast similar to a podcast that was staffed by 10-15 people. Took 35-40 hours per episode to make a 20-minute episode. “It was legit a part-time job…Trying to bite off more than I could chew.”
What’s the one piece of equipment that you’re loving right now?
“The microphone I’ve been most impressed with is the new RODE [Pod] Mic…They did a really great job for under $100…If you have an XLR setup, it’s a great option…”
Who is your dream guest for your podcast? (The one person you wish you could sit down and interview)
“My first thought…having an aerospace engineering background…with that angle, I would like to interview Elon Musk…Neil Degrasse Tyson or an astronaut would be my top.”
