WHAT’S THIS EPISODE ABOUT?

Don’t Be Afraid to Test & Try New Things for Your Podcast

I totally understand the emotion of starting a brand new podcast.

You’re excited to put your content out in the world…
You’re a little nervous how everyone will receive it…
You’ve worked SO hard on what you’re creating…

But I also don’t want you to be afraid to experiment and test during this early stage.

What do I mean by that?

I mean, don’t be afraid to try something new! Sure, it may not work out…but you’re still in the beginning stages – where if you make a mistake now…a lot of people may not even notice.

Test and Try New Things: 3 Things to Consider Switching Up in Your Podcast

Here are a few ways I want you to consider being adventurous in your podcasting journey:

1. How Often You Publish Episodes

This will totally depend on your audience, your style, your show, and how much work you want to put into your podcast…

But don’t be afraid to experiment with how often you put out podcast episodes.

Does that mean you need to publish 7 days a week? No.

Does that mean the only way to be successful is to ONLY publish once a week? No.

This is why I want you to experiment. Try things out. At the very minimum, I want you publishing AT LEAST one episode per week until you feel comfortable moving to more.

(Hint: I published ONE episode per week for the first year of my podcast. Don’t get in over your head if you think you can only handle one.)

2. Episodes Podcast Show Format

This is where you can really personalize your show to stand out and be different. When I say “Podcast Show Format”, I’m referring to the flow of your podcast.

Do you have a clearly defined Beginning, Middle, and End?
Do you have music in the beginning? Or at the end?
Do you have ads in mid-roll?
Do you have any pre-recorded segments?

You can totally play around with how your show flows and how you want your podcast story to be told. You aren’t obligated to pick a format and stick with it FOREVER!! (Thank goodness, right?!?)

FUN FACT: I’ve changed my podcast show format several times over the course of its journey. Don’t be afraid to change things up when they’re not working!

3. Calls-to-Action (Self-Sponsored Ads)

This is where I love to get SUPER creative! I love talking about Calls-to-Action! If you’ve missed the Calls-to-Action or your podcast episode, check it out here.

Be sure to download the 25 CTAs you can make from your podcast in the Resource Library too!

You can definitely test and try new things with your podcast CTAs.

Where you put them…
How long they are…
How often you say them…
Where you send your listeners…
If you’re promoting something…
What you want your audience to do…

The possibilities are endless when it comes to CTAs.
Don’t be afraid to experiment and see what works best for you and your audience!
