WHAT’S THIS EPISODE ABOUT?
What is a Podcast Tagline?
The way I define a Podcast Tagline is a supportive sentence that helps convey the purpose of your podcast.
And because my brain works really well and numbers and systems and processes, I suggest to my clients my students that their tagline has a few distinct words that they use over and over again.
Whether it be 2-3 things that you or your podcast do.
Or how your podcast solves a problem?
Or how can your podcast add value to someone’s life?
PRO TIP:
When I was trying to come up with The Proffitt Podcast tagline, I just started listening to a ton of other podcasts. I examined what their taglines were. I studied what other people were doing. And I noticed that they were using a short single sentence to explain what their podcast does.
Where Does the Podcast Tagline Go?
After people understand what a podcast tagline is, the natural next question tends to be, “Where does the podcast tagline go?”
Well, it varies…from podcast to podcast, host to host, and even industry to industry.
You can say it at the beginning of every episode. You can have it in a pre-recorded clip that you drop into every episode. You can say at the end while you’re telling your people you’re signing off.
But I recommend that you have a podcast tagline that goes into every single episode!
The reason behind adding your podcast tagline to every episode is branding. (Which is a basic foundation of Marketing.)
And you’ll see why in a second.
I’m giving you some specific examples of hosts that have killer taglines for their podcast! I also wanted to tell you about these specifically because I remember these taglines. They have stuck with me over the years and I can almost repeat all of them without even looking them up.
That is the power of a tagline!
The Podcast Tagline is like the Mission Statement of your Podcast!
That is what you’re trying to do with your podcast.
