Solo Podcast Format
There are a few very important steps to take when deciding on your solo podcast format. Even though it’s kinda the same as when you set up an interview (I pretend like I’m interviewing myself sometimes), there are 6 distinct things that need to be in place for every single podcast episode.
6 Steps to a Solo Podcast Format
1. Hook
2. Short Intro
3. Self-Sponsored Ad
4. ONE Main Topic
5. Wrap It Up!
6. Calls-to-action or CTAs (Subscribe & Leave a Review)
I go in-depth into each one of these steps in the video below including what to put where and how you make each step build on the next.
But don’t get caught up in overthinking your solo podcast format.
You can definitely change things up if they don’t feel right or if you want to go in another direction. I tell my students and clients all of the time that they aren’t married to one specific aspect of their podcast.
If they decide 6 months in that they want a new logo, I tell them, “Get a new logo.”
If they want to try new music, I tell them, “Try new music.”
The trick is to just get started.
You’ll figure out what you, your audience, and your community enjoy once you start putting out content.
But again, don’t overthink your solo podcast format. Just stick with something and start creating that amazing podcast content I know you’re dying to create!
