Here’s a tip to help you win at content creation…
Because you already know that creating content is where you want to be, it may seem scary to rock the boat. You’ve already created something that’s working “okay”. So, why changes things up? You’ve told yourself, “My [podcast/YouTube channel/blog] is launched and out in the world. The hardest part is over…right?”
The truth is, launching your [podcast/YouTube channel/blog] is just the first step in creating content. Next is figuring out ways to make money. And the best approach to do that? Experimentation.
Let yourself make mistakes, ask lots of questions, and try many outlets for revenue generation — without the pressure of making tons of money overnight and getting everything right from day one.
Don’t be afraid to learn a new strategy, apply it to your [podcast, YT channel, or blog], and see what happens. The worst is that it brings in no extra cash next month. But hey…you weren’t many much (or anything!) to begin with, right?

1. Write down 3 ways you want to make money.
Affiliate marketing, creating digital courses, selling events or masterminds, sponsorships, or 1:1 coaching…there! Now, you can’t say you don’t know 3 ways to make money with content.
But here’s the thing, most people don’t know where to start when they choose one way to make money. The best advice I received around monetization was to pick one strategy and focus on that for 30 days.
If it works, great! You’ve found one way to make money. Now move on to the next.
If it doesn’t work out, you can always change things or never do that again. (Remember, you’re making the rules here. 😉)

2. Experiment with Your CTAs
CTAs (calls-to-action) are the lifeline that your content depends on. If you can’t get your audience to take a baby step with you (like follow you on IG or join your email list), why would they take a BIG leap & buy your $500 product?
Creators often say, “It feels weird (and unnaturally awkward) to ask people to do stuff. Can’t I just assume they know what to do next?”
Ummm, no. You can’t.
Humans are designed to communicate. And, unless I missed a Forbes article that iPhones now come with telepathy, people can’t read your mind. CTAs are your way of leading people to the next step of their journey with you.
You want to create an opportunity for your audience to engage with you on another level. Whether that’s joining a Facebook group, getting on your email list, or signing up for a low-ticket product you’re selling, making those baby CTAs gives you (and your fans) the confidence to move on to the bigger ones.
It’s time to start making those little asks, so the big ones don’t feel so out of reach — for you and your audience!

3. Build Your Audience
“I launched my product…and no one bought it,” said every disappointed business owner who launched a product to a tiny audience not ready to buy.
Like any form of monetization, you need people to buy the thing you’re selling. You also need those people to know, like and trust you, so you’re not busy answering refund requests until the end of time.
Building a large, engaged audience doesn’t guarantee success…but it also doesn’t hurt!
The chances of getting in front of the right people at the right time with the right offer exponentially increase when you go from 10 to 10,000 raving fans. (It’s just simple math.)
So, the obvious question is…
how do you get more eyeballs on your content?
While this varies from industry to industry, the logic remains the same…get in front of people who could potentially be a future member of your audience that turns into a lifelong customer.
But how?
Guesting on podcasts, speaking in other people’s communities, gaining organic exposure through SEO and keywords, and paid advertising. While I know building an audience overnight is near impossible, it IS possible to get started. Now. Today!
