Ways to Make Money with Your Podcast
BUT HOW?
The first question people always ask me about podcasting is, “How do you start a podcast?”
The next question is, “HOW do you make money?”
I’m sure there are millions of ways to make money podcasting, but here are the 5 Ways to Make Money that DON’T require millions of downloads!
Even better, all of these can be used as soon as you launch your podcast!
1. Listener-Sponsored Membership Sites
Sites like Patreon.com are a great way to receive steady, monthly income for your podcast. Your members can pay a monthly rate (let’s say $15/month) to gain access to exclusive content for “Members Only”.
CON:
This requires more work creating additional original content for members.
PRO:
It can really start to pay off as your listener base grows.
2. Affiliate Marketing
Selling someone else’s products as an affiliate. Are you already using products/services that you absolutely love? See if you can get paid to endorse them! Lots of companies are offer commissions on products/ services when you send them new customers.
For example, I endorse a planner that I LOVE! When someone purchases one of these planners through my specific affiliate link, I receive a small commission.
The easiest platform to get started with affiliates is Amazon’s Affiliate Program. (Even if you don’t have large audience!)
CON:
Takes a while to see a steady stream of income.
PRO:
Able to start on DAY 1 of your podcast!

3. Sell Your Consulting Services
If you are a life coach or offer other types of 1-on-1 services, advertise them on your podcast! You can offer a FREE 30-minute consultation or something similar on your podcast to get people “in the door”. Offer a discount or promo code for people listening to your podcast.
CON:
Need to setup back-end logistics to handle consulting/promo codes.
PRO:
Evergreen lead generating tool!
4. Sell Your Merch
Merch is something people love to have! When people are obsessed with a product or service, they love to tell other people about it. What better way to do that than with coffee mugs, t-shirts, laptop cases, phone pop-sockets, etc. with your podcast logo on it?
This is a great way to build your brand and spread your message all while providing great merch for your listeners!
CON:
Need inventory to fulfill demand. Logistics of carrying physical products.
PRO:
Create brand awareness, gain momentum with listeners, & more marketing of your podcast.
5. Sell Your Own Products
Oh, this my favorite way to make money with a podcast! Create your own digital course, eBook, or other products. Then, promote them on your podcast. It’s as simple as saying,
“This episode is sponsored by Proffitt Podcasting, my digital course that teaches you how to Start, Launch, & Market Your Podcast! You can find more info and get started with your podcast today by visiting KrystalProffitt.com/podcastcourse.”
CON:
Extra time, money, & energy goes into creating a product. (These resources may be limited already.)
PRO:
Aren’t limited to what you can say, how many times you can promote, or how you choose to talk about your product. There are tons of ways to make money with a podcast, but these are the easiest ways to get started.
