The Ramsey Influencer Event Invitation

“Wait, this isn’t spam?”

So, I got an email several weeks ago inviting me to talk to someone from the Ramsey Solutions team. My initial thought was, “This is for sure spam!”

But after some digging through LinkedIn and a quick Google search, I realized the person emailing me was a legit employee from Dave Ramsey’s company. 

“Would you be interested in attending our Ramsey Influencer event in November here in Nashville?” she asked.

Trying to play cool and act like I wasn’t 9 years old being asked, “Do you want to go to Disney World?”…I said, “Yes. Of course, that sounds amazing!” In reality, I was doing a full-blown happy dance when I got off the call!

Cut to one of the most impactful experiences I’ve had!

Day One: Ramsey Headquarters

Having a front-row seat to watch one of your mentors do their thing…

I’ve followed Dave Ramsey since I worked in my corporate days. I used to listen/watch his show when I was doing my data entry job every day. His voice was a constant in my subconscious and I even caught myself asking, “What would Dave say about that…” like he was a friend I’d call later on the phone.

But I was not prepared to be standing there in the headquarters at Ramsey Solutions in Franklin, TN.

It was an experience of a lifetime!
(I know that sounds super fangirl and cheesy to say, but it’s 100% true!)  

DAY ONE OF RAMSEY INFLUENCER EVENT – Biggest Takeaway: consistency doing the right things at the right time – compounded over time – will get you far in life.

A compelling talk led by Christy Wright on how to deliver a message from stage. (The aha-moments were super impactful!)

4. Our 5-Minute Talks

5. “The Results”

I received the honor of getting into the TOP 10 for our 5-minute talks! And with that, I received a VIP coaching session with Rachel Cruze. (It was incredible!)

DAY TWO OF RAMSEY INFLUENCER EVENT – Biggest Takeaway: authenticity and clarity in your mission will take you and your message farther than without it.

Day Three: Content, “Speak-Off”, & Closing Message

A Breakdown of Day Three’s Schedule:

1. Publicity and Media Hits

Learning how to pitch for TV spots and what producers are looking for when it comes to who they want to feature on their shows.

2. The Science of Social Media

Learning firsthand what goes into the content strategy behind the social media brands at Ramsey was eye-opening. (Like most things, I realized how much I overcomplicate my approaches.)

3. Podcast YouTube, & Distribution Panel

You know I wanted to ask ALL THE QUESTIONS during this session! But it was helpful to hear from producers that have been in this space for decades working with Dave to grow his platforms.

4. Ramsey Influencer Event Speak-Off

The Top 10 took the main stage to give their talks and lay it all on the line. (It was like American Idol, Influencer-style.)

5. Closing Message

To spend 2.5 days soaking up so much knowledge from truly talented people…well, I felt humbled to just be invited. We were all reminded that “winning” — whatever that may look like for you — isn’t the end goal. The goal, for me, is to help as many people as possible share the message they have to share to help someone else.

DAY THREE OF RAMSEY INFLUENCER EVENT – Biggest Takeaway: show up as yourself. Be true to what you know. Don’t be afraid to try something new, but pay attention to what matters the most.
