Behind the Scenes: 5-Day Podcast Challenge
Just a sneak peek…
One of my nerdy qualities is that I love a good behind the scenes! And I’m assuming many of you love to see the behind the scenes too – because y’all love it when I post things on my Instagram stories that I don’t post anywhere else.
Sharing behind the scenes also helps people understand more about the content presented in a way that you don’t always get when you’re live because you can stop, rewind, and re-listen as many times as you’d like. (Plus, many of you told me that you wouldn’t be able to make it live so here’s an audio replay of a few clips.)
Want to see what’s happened on Day 1 & Day 2 of the 5-Day Podcast Challenge?
The challenge starts
Aug. 23 – Aug. 27
Day 1: Podcast Goal
“What is your podcast goal?”
When you start a podcast, having a goal in mind helps keep you motivated, inspired, and keep going when you aren’t sure what’s next for your show.
So, on Day 1 of the 5-Day Podcast Challenge, we talked about how to establish a podcast goal big or small. Many members shared their goals in our private community, like:
- Create deeper connections with my subscribers and future listeners.
- I want to equip and inspire.
- Make a deeper connection with my audience and get my ideas out into the world.
- I have countless inspirational stories, words of wisdom, and awesome people to share with the world.
- To launch my podcast so that I can build my audience and serve other moms like me.
- To bring more people to fantasy football by shortening the learning curve, removing intimidation, and having fun.
- To get more experience in anticipation of my first client.
- Validating my podcast niche.
- To get clear about the “non-recording stuff” like infrastructure, design, name to then have time for recording.
- To create an outline of topics I wish to discuss with my audience.
Now, let’s move on to Day 2.
Day 2: Podcast Topic
Let’s talk about what you’ll talk about…
When it comes to picking a podcast topic, there is a a perfection intersection between what you ca talk about for hours and what you’re passionate about. That’s where your podcast topic lies.
In the 5-day podcast challenge, members shared their podcast topics and inspired me and everyone else in the group:
- Unique side hustles for baby boomers
- Offer practical marketing hacks to small business owners
- Branding – how to build your brand to attract more idea customers
- Starting, launching, and growing an online fitness coaching business
- How to play – and win -in fantasy football, daily fantasy, and sportsbook betting
- Time management and productivity for moms whos own a business
- Leadership and career tips for architecture/engineering business operations staff
I hope that these varied topics give you some inspiration and motivation to decide on your own podcast topic. My advice to you for choosing a podcast topic is to find something that comes natural for you to talk about and you’ll enjoy marketing for days, weeks, months, and years to come.
