Today’s episode is a great peek into a podcast journey with an amazing story on how to create a podcast. Not only is Kerry-Anne a podcast host of Carry On Friends and owner of Breadfruit Media – a podcast network and production company, she’s also someone who started on her podcast journey not knowing exactly how it would all turn out.
In my recent conversation with Kerry-Anne, we geeked out on all things podcasting and I loved hearing her story from blogging to sharing her Caribbean roots.
“And then around 2014, I had an audience survey. And they were like, Well, we want to hear more from people like us. At the time, the blog I started was more focused on being Caribbean American – the duality of being an immigrant, and even if they’re a first-generation, just that duality…
So I’m like, Alright, you know, I guess it’s a podcast.” – Kerry-Anne
And I’m so excited that she decided to take her time to understand her audience before she started to create a podcast. I believe so much of her success is related to truly understanding who she’s serving with her show.
