What Is the Buzzsprout Dynamic Podcast Content Tool All About?

I couldn’t wait for the day when Buzzsprout would roll out their new dynamic content tool. And that day finally came at the end of 2020. Since I first got access to this new snazzy podcast tool, I’ve played around with the different ways you – as a podcast host – could use it.

My definition of dynamic content is:

An audio clip you can add before and/or after your regular podcast episode.

In today’s episode, I’m breaking down the 4 initial ways I see podcasters being able to use it and giving you a few insights into how you can start experimenting with this new Buzzsprout dynamic podcast content tool.

**By the way, this tool is available for ALL Buzzsprout users on paid plans! Even if you have a different hosting provider, you can take the concepts we talk about today and apply them to your own show.

If you’re a Buzzsprout user, you can find this feature under the “Episodes” tab in your account. And, my favorite part of this tool, is that you have the option to apply the dynamic content to all of your previous podcast episodes! Going all the way back to episode 1! #GameChanger

1. Time-Sensitive Promotion

This is going to be super important for all of you course creators and business owners because as the year goes on, you likely have promotions happening. Whether it’s telling people that the doors to your program are opening, you launched your book, or you have a virtual event coming up…

Using the dynamic content tool to mention a specific time sensitive promotion is very smart!

And I believe in the approach of testing different types of self-sponsored ads to see what works and what doesn’t. *You can upload up to 5 minutes of audio content in the pre-roll or post-roll dynamic content in Buzzsprout, so experiment to your heart’s content!

Also, if you want to know more about creating your own self-sponsored podcast ads, be sure to watch this video below!

2. Special Announcements and Calls-to-Action

Special announcements and specific calls-to-action can work really well in the post-roll ads for your show. (Of course, this is just my opinion so do what you want with your show!) But if you wanted to add a call-to-action for all of your podcast listeners, the dynamic content is the way to go!

And for reference on a show that does this really well, go check out the Foot Traffic Podcast with Stacy Tuschl! I’ve listened to her show for a while now and I love how she incorporates her CTAs at the beginning and at the end of her show.

3. Engagement with Your Audience

I love the idea of focusing on your podcast at the beginning of your show – not trying to grow all of the social media channels at the same time. And a way to go along with that concept is to use a dynamic content ad after you’ve established your show.

My advice would be to do a promotional ad telling your audience to join your Facebook group, follow you on social media, or another way you want to connect with your listeners.

There are many ways to play around with how you want to engage with your audience.

So don’t be afraid to keep trying new things and work with what’s working and change up what’s not.

4. Building Your Email List

Mentioning your free resources, downloads, and trainings for your audience in your dynamic content is a fantastic way for you to grow your email list with your podcast. Plus, it gives you the flexibility to pitch different things to your audience on a pretty regular basis.

For example, I have a new masterclass coming up soon and I’m going to use the dynamic content tool to share it with my audience.

One Important Guideline for the Buzzsprout Dynamic Podcast Content Tool

Always provide a specific call-to-action URL! Don’t assume that your audience will know where to go just by mentioning something one time in a short audio clip. Use a tool that can help you create short, memorable URLs so your audience knows exactly what to do and how to do it.
