WHAT’S THIS EPISODE ABOUT?

Let’s Talk About the Ediful Gardens Podcast

I’m thrilled to bring you a very special student of mine, my mom – Nannette Blair. She is the host of the Ediful Gardens Podcast and today, I wanted to share her journey of the first year of her podcast.

The highlights we hit on in today’s episode are: how she launched her podcast in March 2019, how she found her ideal listener, and she shared some of the ups and downs of her podcast journey.

Mom was one of my first students (yes, she paid for it!) and she shared about

How do you format your podcast?

When she first started, her intention was to publish daily. She published 5 days a week in what she called mini-series…

But then, the garden season hit. And she had to pivot. Now, she has a weekly podcast that consists of mostly solo episodes.

Highlights About The Ediful Gardens Podcast from Today’s Episode…

  • Mom’s journey from launching The Ediful Gardens Podcast and finding her show in the Top 100 Podcasts in the Home & Garden Category.
  • She launched in March 2019 and has consistently published on a schedule that works for her.
  • People don’t care about how you sound as much as they care about the information you provide.
  • It’s super cool to see Mom have listeners from countries she’s never even heard of!

About Nannette Blair – Mom

Nannette Blair is the host of The Ediful Gardens Podcast.

After taking a Master Gardener’s class 20 years ago and learning through her own backyard trials with various other Gardening methods, Nannette went on to become a Certified Permaculture Designer through OSU in 2015.

A researcher at heart, most of her days are spent collecting species data, creating edible landscape designs, or studying soil samples with her trusty microscope. If you pop by you’ll probably find her in the garden, turning compost or in the greenhouse propagating plants.

“The blog, YouTube tutorials, Podcast, and Social Media Platforms were created out of an urge to share, celebrate, and commiserate with anyone that might benefit from hard-won lessons.”

Nannette’s favorite edible from the garden is Lavender.

She lives in Springtown, Texas with my Dad and their huge Irish Wolfhound, Ace.
