WHAT’S THIS EPISODE ABOUT?
My Top 4 Books of 2019
If you’re not a big reader or if you find yourself saying, “Books are SO expensive. How can you purchase so many books in a year?”
Then my friend you need to check out the Overdrive app. It’s FREE and all you need is a library card from your local library. It gives you the ability to check out ebooks and audiobooks and it’s how I managed to read close to 50 books in 2018! (And y’all…I was never really a “reader” in my life until I started using Overdrive! Not an ad…just LOVE the ability to read on my phone or tablet!)
1. “The One Thing – The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Ordinary Results” by Gary Keller & Jay Papasan
My Biggest Takeaway:
Stop glorifiying the ability to multi-task! Instead focus on your ONE THING!
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a business, it helps your prioritize your schedule and your life to accomplish your ONE THING! This book is for you if you’re a stay-at-home-mom, hair stylist, online marketer, or a teacher.
2. “Everything is Figureoutable” by Marie Forleo
You have to check out MarieTV because you’ll immediately fall in love with Marie and everything she does!
My Biggest Takeaway:
I think I’m the one standing in my own way and holding myself back.
Instead, the book focuses on prioritizing what’s most important and the life you want to live. If you’re going to read the book, you HAVE to do the journal work at the end of each chapter! It opened my eyes to so many things in my life.

3. “Building a Storybrand – Clarifying Your Message so Your Customers Will Listen” by Donald Miller
My Biggest Takeaway:
“If you confuse, you lose.”
I’ve quoted this book several times within the podcast, and it’s 100% true. If you confuse your audience, you lose. If you confuse your customers, you lose.
*Make sure you check out the Action Steps at the end of each chapter to maximize the content you learned.
4. “Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals” by Rachel Hollis
My Biggest Takeaway:
Stop trying to be everything for everyone else.
A lot of the things I felt “obligated” to do was stealing my joy. *Listen to the podcast for my self-therapy session about my involvment with the PTO.
