How Much Does it Cost to Podcast?

There are definitely certain things to consider when it comes to costs associated with podcasting. And my firm belief is to NOT spend a crazy amount of money on anything when you’re just getting started. (Get scrappy and creative!)

If you’re brand new to the podcast game, here are the costs and expenses you can expect to see in your first 6 months to a year. And then we’ll dive into the upgraded “fancy” stuff. But start here. Don’t go diving off the deep end and throwing money around when you’re just getting started.

Equipment

I literally got started for $30. Yup, you read that right…$30! That’s it.

I don’t think you have to buy a super expensive mic right out of the gate. This $21 mic I got off Amazon will do the trick. (Psst…I still use this mic from time to time! It works like a charm!)

Podcast Hosting Services (Hosting Site)

Thankfully, podcast monthly expenses don’t break the bank! But you definitely need a podcast hosting service in order to get your podcast up and running. And this is a monthly expense that you’ll have as long as you want your podcast out in the world.
