Let’s Talk About Podcast Interviews with Squadcast
I was honored to sit down and chat with the Co-Founders of Squadcast, Zach Moreno and Rock Felder. Hearing the genesis story of Squadcast and listening to their plans for the platform’s future totally satisfied my geeky-podcaster’s heart!
We talked about tips for new podcasters, how to achieve better audio quality, and why podcast workflow for you and your guests is super important! So make sure you check out our conversation about how you can use Squadcast for podcast interviews.
“…when you’re recording remotely or recording audio, in general, you tend to think of the microphone as you know, what gives you quality audio…There are other elements that technology can help with…headphones actually can help have quality audio, especially for a remote conversation that you’re recording over the web.
And that really just removes the need to kind of process the audio…remove any sort of feedback that can happen if audio is coming out of your speakers…it can sometimes get picked up by your microphone…and that sounds like some kind of double talk.
And we don’t want that…that really is tough to work within editing and post-production, it just adds time.
So rather than kind of putting that on the robots in the computer to try to do their kind of the best job at it, you can put headphones on and not have to worry about any of that.
And it’s really simple. And I think most people have access to headphones these days. So that is my tip for kind of the less obvious…thing you can do to get higher quality audio on any platform. That’s true for Squadcast but it’s true for any platform.” – Zach
“…one of the things that I like to say is just to be realistic…the the first time that you get behind the mic is probably not going to be that awesome or great…
It’s all about just getting better and getting reps is the way that Zach and I see it.
…you’re probably not going to have this Joe Rogan size show because guess what – nobody else does.
And so I think just being realistic about it and understanding that like it’s if you have an audience of 200 people that crave your content and are coming back to it every week, that’s a huge deal! I mean, think about 200 people coming to see you speak every month or week or whatever the schedule is. That’s how we like to think of it…
And I think a lot of podcasters think, well, I only have 200 or 1000, or I can’t get ads yet. And it’s like, it’s okay…it doesn’t usually have hyper-growth, but it is very rewarding to people that are consistent. So if you can persevere and continue to nurture your, your audience, and hone your craft, you will be rewarded…you can still cultivate a great audience and a great business out of podcasting.” – Rock
Learn More About Squadcast Co-Founders, Zach & Rock
Today we are talking to Zach Moreno and Rock Felder, the co-founders of SquadCast.fm and the hosts of the Between 2 Mics podcast, about how they found an opportunity to make a big difference in a crowded industry. Together they are on a mission to amplify collaboration by making the process of recording podcasts as seamless and hassle-free as possible. Their innovative product is fast becoming the industry standard to record shows remotely in the best sound quality possible.
Zachariah Moreno and Rockwell Felder are the co-founders of SquadCast.fm, an intuitive audio and video recording platform that is taking the podcast world by storm. Zach and Rock’s backgrounds could not be more different. Zach comes from the world of Software Engineering, where he worked for the government developing tools and apps. Rock, on the other hand, comes from the world of corporate auditing, where he worked for Moss Adams LLP in the assurance services department.
While they actually met in high school, they reconnected years later when their common desire to make more of an impact on the world intersected at the perfect moment. Zach had been having issues with a sci-fi drama podcast that he had created. He loved the world of podcasting, but the technical issues of actually producing and airing the podcast were taking the enjoyment out of the process. In that moment, Zach pitched Rock the idea that would later become SquadCast.fm. The decision and partnership easily formed due to their shared love of podcasting and desire to empower & encourage content creators to engage in meaningful conversations without barriers. Today, some of the brightest minds in podcasting refer to SquadCast.fm as “the industry standard”
to record your show remotely in the best sound quality possible. In addition to high quality remote audio recording, this year SquadCast.fm is launching high-quality remote video recording capabilities.
